GYM FESTIVAL
Over 120 budding
gymnasts took part in the
competition held last weekend.
The competition saw some
excellent routines from the
different age groups proving
once again OLGA has the depth of
quality required to be a top
class club.
TRAMPOLINE COMPETITION DATES FOR
2010
The calendar now has provisional
competition dates for next year.
Venues have not been finalised
and be aware the dates may
change
NATIONAL FINALISTS - IMPORTANT
NOTICE
Warm up on Friday 17th
July 2009 is 5pm. Passes will be
needed for entry into the arena,
therefore can all competitors meet
Claire/Michael at 4.35pm – passes
will then be handed out at 4.45pm.
Friday night spectators are welcome
but there will be a small charge of
50p per person. All info is on
notice board.

COME AND MEET
SPORTACUS!!!
Sportacus will be at
the Rossmore Leisure Centre on
Thursday 27th August
2009. We will be holding ‘pay &
play’ sessions 9-11 & 1-3 on this
day and Sportacus will be helping
out, signing autographs etc
throughout the day. You will need
to book for this event and this can
be done at main reception from July
– more info will be on notice board.
BASKERVILLES CUP SUCCESS FOR YOUNG
OLGA BOYS
The 2001 + younger age group, the
team of James Leaver, Jordan
Standish and Joe O'Brien took the
silver medal . Best individual
performance from each boy: James 1st
on P. Bars, Jordan 2nd on P. Bars
and Joe 3rd on Vault. In the 2000
age group Rees Bradbury was 8th
overall coming 4th on P. Bars, while
Cole Merton came 17th, coming 9th on
the floor. Sam Budden, in the 1999
age group came 4th overall - his
best performance being 2nd on
mushroom. Sam was in the top 10 on
every piece. Shea Winstanley &
Oliver Owen represented OLGA in the
1998 age group. Shea was 5th overall
and Oliver was 9th. Best performance
from Shea was on Vault (2nd) and
Oliver High Bar (2nd). Shea and
Oliver like Sam were in the top 10
on every piece of equipment.
Well done boys - a good competition.
2ND, 3RD &
4TH IN WEST COUNTRY LEAGUE
Match 2 in Plymouth saw OLGA
achieve the following:
'a' league: 4th place
'b' league: 2nd place
'c' league: 3rd place
SHANNON
QUALIFIES FOR 2010 BRITISH
Congratulations to Shannon Betts
for competing in the British
Espoir Championships on Saturday
6th June at Gloucester and for
achieving the score needed to
compete at the 2010 British
Junior Championships.
AMY WINS
AT SPRINGBOARD COMPETITION
Amy Barnes won the 9/10 years
category at the recently held
Springboard Competition.

GOOD DAY
FOR OLGA AT GLOUCESTER
Well done to all our new
competitors who competed for the
first time, you all did
brilliantly – Sophie Hayes,
Francesca Tilsed, Kira Holland,
Ethan Broom & Coral Burgess. We
had a fantastic day bringing
home 6 individual golds, 4
silvers and 4 bronzes, plus 5
team golds, 4 silvers & 1 bronze
– a total of 24 medals. Also a
big thank you to Paul Stickland,
Darren Haynes, Ian Leigh & Liz
Scott for judging and Kayleigh
Ward Bailey for recording. It
was a very successful day for
OLGA, and all the coaches would
like to congratulate all our
competitors on their performance
and behaviour.
SOUTH
SHIELD GALA
Well done to all our performers
and a big congratulations to;
Kayleigh Ward Bailey and Luke
Rendell who qualified for the
British National Championships.

BOYS GRADES FINAL
This was a good competition for
the OLGA boys
The
Level 1 Regional Level age 9,
saw Rees come 8th overall and
the team finishing in 4th place
In the
Level 2-Age 10 Regional
Sam Budden helped the team take
the silver medal
came and 18th overall.
Level 4- age 12 Regional
Jamie Hendy
had his best score on vault and
helped the South West Team to
the Bronze Medal
Level 3- Age 11 Club
The South West Team secured the
Bronze Medal
Level 5 -Age 13 Club
Thomas Holroyd finished 18th
overall with the team coming
4th.
SILVER FOR
JUNIOR TEAM AT THE BRITISH
The Junior team, led by their
captain Sophie Tinnion came 2nd at
the British Teamgym Championships,
just 0.4 behind the winners. The
competition was very tough but the
team performed solid routines on all
pieces achieving the highest
score on trampette. Well done girls,
you did yourselves and coaches
proud.
CARDIFF GALA
WEEKEND
Well done to all our performers and
a big congratulations to; Chloe
Wiener and Danielle Hardy who both
qualified for the British National
Championships. A big thank you
to Katrina Bailey for marshalling &
recording, Libby Johnson for
recording, and Liz Scott for
judging.
NATIONAL QUALIFIERS

Kimberly Stickland & Isabelle
Songhurst for qualifying for the
British Nationals at the Birmingham
Gala in February
Birmingham GaLA RESULTS AMENDED
These are amended
results due to the changes made to
the competition structure after the
Birmingham Gala. All Galas
will now include the above age
groups. All competitors who
finish in the bottom 25% will now be
on a caution and if they finish in
the middle (ie. Not in relegation or
promotion zone) they will go back to
0. If they finish in the
relegation zone again they will then
have to move to the lower grade.
