National Recognition for OLGA Boys

Paul Urzica with the OLGA boys

On 15th and 16 st May the competitive boys of OLGA gymnastics based at Rossmore Leisure Centre competed in the Mens Setwork National Gymnastics Finals representing the South West Region. In total they landed 2 individual medals and 4 team medals.

James Leaver Regional U9 7th out of 19 and Team Bronze,
Floor(8.9), Pommel(6.7),Rings(8.6),Vault(9.6),P Bars(9.4),H/Bar(9.4),PPP(7.7)

Joe O'Brian Club U9 9th and Team Bronze,
Cole Merton Club U10 Individual Silver and Team Bronze,
Sam Budden Club U11 Individual Silver and Team Silver,
Samuel Roberts Club U11 23rd place
Oliver Owen Club Under 12 12th place
Shea Winstanley Club Under 12, 13th place

Paul Urzica Lead Boys Coach at OLGA comments “....I am very proud of the boy's performance, hard work and dedication which has made it possible. As part of the team all the boys have made a significant contribution towards the team success. As individuals Cole has performed extremely well (gymnast of the competition), Sam Budden was constant and lost out on a deserved gold medal, Samuel Roberts performed above my expectations, Joe at his first national event showed potential, Shea and Oliver excelled on some apparatus. James has competed against the best in the country and has the potential to compete at world level.
