On Sunday the 29 June, 12 boys from Olga took place in the
Baskerville’s Cup held at Baskerville
School of Gymnastics in Bath. In age 2000 James Leaver and Jordon Standish were the youngest in the group finishing 26th respectively 15th, good experience and a step forward in their competitive career. In the same age group Jed Avissar, Cole Merton and Rees Bradbury competed in the team event and as individuals. Best performances were from Rees coming 2nd in the all around event scoring the highest on floor and mushroom ,a very determined and hard working boy. Cole was 5th all around showing confidence, strength and a much improved performance. Jed was good on rings and H/bar and helped the team to win team silver, overall 11th. This competition group had 39 gymnasts. Jamie Hendy competed in under 11 age group coming individual 3rd and performing the best in the group on vault and H/bar. Sam Budden and Sam Robert age 9 had some tough competition .Sam Budden won gold on H/bar, Well deserved individual 4th after recovering from an arm injury. Sam Roberts came individual 8th with a much improved performance on mushroom, vault and H/bar. Miles Jones, Shea Winstanley and Oliver Owen brought the team to 2nd. Miles was the most improved and included some new skills coming 8th individually. Shea made some mistakes and came 9th. Oliver had a good day finishing 3rd all around wining on 2 apparatus. Tomas Holroyd was the gymnast of the day! Wining a total 5 gold medals. With a total of 73.00 points won the all around event performing excellent on pommel, rings P/bars and H/bar Wining gold medals on all of them. Well done boys!
