WHAT'S NEW


FUN SESSIONS
These sessions are raising money for the TEAMGYM European Championships and the World Age Groups
30th October– 4-5pm 26th & 27th October– 2.30-3.30pm 28th October 11.30-12.30pm & 2.30-3.30pm The sessions are £2/child and minimum age is 7. Children aged between 4-6 are welcome but MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Parents Committee are currently fundraising for the European Teamgym to be held in Sweden in October and the Trampoline World Age Group Games in France.
We have 12 Teamgym members going to Sweden and 11 Trampolinists going to France. If you can help in any way please contact Katrina (see Parents committe page for details)

INTERNATIONAL SELECTION FOR TRAMPOLINISTS
Congratulations to the following Trampolinists who have been selected for up coming Internationals:
Kayvon Arasteh, Jason ryall, Zach Sheridan, Rebecca Finch and Joe Berry(reserve) - GBR v GER 24th/25th September in Wiengarten Germany.

YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES
Nathan Bailey competed in the Trampoline competition at this event on Friday 20th August. He performed a very good compulsorymand voluntary routine in the preliminary rounds, scoring a personal best of 64.7. This put him in 5th position going into the final. Nathan made a small mistake on move 4 and didn't complete his routine, but he was happy with his performance overall and has learnt a grreat deal from the experience. Nathan was going for a medal andneeded to pull out a big routine. Nathan however finished a creditable 8th. Well done.

BRITISH NATIONAL TRAMPOLINE CHAMPIONSHIPS
OLGA had a fantastic British National Championships – our best results for 5 years. Out of 26 individual entries, we had 12 finalists, 3 Individual National Champions, 2 National Team Champions, 1 Super Team Gold, 1 Individual silver, 1 Team silver, 2 Synchro silvers, 1 Synchro bronze & 2 Super Team bronzes. In fact 22 out of 26 came back with a medal – an amazing achievement!!!
Special congratulations to our National Champions; Nathan Bailey, Zach Sheridan & Katy Ianson. Particular mention must go to Katy who, 4 years ago, was told she would never trampoline again after a particularly bad injury to her knee. Katy's success is down to her pure determination, passion for the sport, dedication and work ethic – WELL DONE KATY!!!!!

BRITISH GYMNASTIC MEMBERSHIP
Just a reminder that the BG membership fee will be on your childs account on 1st September.
This years charges are as follows:
Preschool - £10
Recreational - £15
Competitive - £40
Please pay this fee promptly as we need to send our renewal to British Gymnastics at the beginning of October. We can only renew those gymnasts who have paid To be be a member of OLGA you MUST be a member of British Gymnastics.

DOUBLE CELEBRATION FOR OLGA
Congratulations to Nathan on his GB selection for the Youth Olympics. Congratulations also to Brian Camp who is going as Nathans coach. Brian has also been selected as an England Squad coach for British Gymnastics. This does not affect Brians' role with the club, but is a great opportunity for Brian to further his coaching skills

POOLE BOROUGH COUNCIL AWARDS
Congratulations to :
Luke Rendell, Sina Abolghassem, Robin Hartey, Oliver Simonet, Isabelle Songhurst, Jackie Caudle-Fisher, Luke Newey, Danielle Hardy, Kimberley Stickland, Kayvon Arasteh, Claire Stapenhill & Rebecca Finch, on receiving Certificates of Commendation for their achievements/sevices to the sport of trampolining.

15 MEDALS FOR OLGA BOYS
The 20 th of June saw Olga's squad boys compete in the Baskerville's cup. This proved to be a very popular event and included over 160 gymnasts.
The 2001 age group saw James lever storm to 1st place with a strong performance on Rings(where he won Gold) and good on P/Bars and H/Bar.
Also in this category, Joe O'Brien, achieved 1st on vault and proved to be very consistent throughout, finishing 5 th overall
Cole Merton competed in the hardest age group (born 2000) His best performance was on the rings (where he came second), and a well deserved 4 th over all.
Sam Budden was second in the 1999 age group, his best performances were on Floor, Rings and H/Bar apparatus which he won.
Shea Winstanley and Oliver Owen competed in the 1998 age group. Shea came 2 nd overall and did his best on Floor and rings. Oliver was the winner of his age group, winning gold on every piece !
Well done!!!

GYMNASTIC RESULTS
Wiltshire Open
Congratulations to all who took part. we had several girls coming awaywith ribbons. These are given to the top 6 gymnasts on each apparatus.
South West Inter Counties
The folllowing girls from OLGA represented Dorset in the above event:
Under 12 (Floor & Vault)
Alanta Hammond-Forge, Chloe Brebner and Francesca Martin. The team finished 5th
Over 12 (Floor & Vault)
Lizzie Lockhart, Chloe Pennington, Charlotte Jones and Louuisa Hancock. The team finished 1st.
Dorest team - open age (4 piece)
Izzy Songhurst was selected but due to injury was unable to participate
OLGA Novice Festival This was a great success, congratulations to all the gymnasts who took part. A massive thank you to Lou Collins for scoring, Kirsty Taylor & Bethany Bailey for judging and Katrina Bailey for the refreshments. This competition could not run without the dedication and committment from everyone who supported or helped with organisation. Thank you also to the coaches who helped take the gymnasts round each apparatus and judge.

SUCCESS AT BATH
Congratulations to our first time competitors: Bronte Kazim-Stockley and Harry Holder. A big thank you to Paul Stickland, Ian leigh and Darren Haynes for judging and Luke Newey for recording. It was a very successful day for OLGA and all the coaches would like tocongratulate all our competitors on their performance and behaviour.

ARTISTIC RESULTS
West Country League 18th April Match 1
OLGA entered 3 teams. A, B and C.
A team included: Isabelle Evans, Chloe Tinsley, Sasha Hanham, Katie Owen, Brooke Linsday & Jade Bennett. Team finished 5th. All the girls performed very well, considering this was there first major 4 piece competition. It was a great experience and very valuable.
B team included: Luisa Calvert, Natalie Jones, Isabel Horton, Victoria Kennedy & Olivia Taylor. Team finished 5th. Excellent effort made by all. Some of the girls performed 'new' skills for the first time.
C team included- Charlotte Jones, Louisa Hancock, Alanta Hammond- Forge, Chloe Brebner & Izzy Songhurst. The girls performed out of their skins, managing to secure 2nd place. Well done girls.

Sunday 25th April- National Grade Finals
Izzy Songhurst and Alanta Hammond-Forge was part of the SW Team to compete at the Natonal grade 7 finals, in Birmingham. The team managed to finish 5th out of 12.
Izzy finished 34th individually. She was the top gymnast on Vault and floor from the SW team members. 2nd on Bars and 4th on beam. Izzy performed brilliantly. She did herself and OLGA coaches proud.
Alanta didn't get to compete, as she was travelling reserve. She showed great support for the team throughtout the competition.
Well done girls!

Sunday 9th May- SW Springboard
Congratulations to all girls who took part. We had excellent results. It was a very successful day.

OLGA TEAMGYM - BACK WHERE THEY BELONG - ON TOP !
OLGA seniors proved once again they are THE team to beat.  After a nail biting 2 rounds , the girls excelled on trampette and produced 3 outstanding runs to clinch the title ahead of Tolworth and Midlothian.  Congratulations to the team and a special thank you to coach Karen Grimes for her dediction and hard work with not  only the Seniors but the Primaries and Juniors as well.  Well done girls- fingers crossed for Malmo!!
