CHLOE OFF TO RUSSIA WITH ENGLISH TEAM
Congratulations to Chloe Leaper who has
been selected by English gymnastics as a member
of the junior team being sent to Russia this
September to compete in the Vladimir cup. Franki
Gee will also be travelling as one of
the nominated coaches for the team. Good luck
Chloe and well done on your selection!
22 MEDALS FOR
BOYS AT BASKERVILLES
OLGA
boys blasted their way to victory at the
above competition. Jed, Cole and Rees gained
silver in the team competition for in age 2000.
Best performance was from Rees coming 2nd all
around. In the under 11 Jamie took bronze. Sam
Budden took gold on High bar in the 9 years age
group.
Tomas Holroyd was the gymnast
of the day taking gold on all apparatus,
with a total of 73.00

LEAPER TWINS IN
TOP 20 AT JUNIOR BRITISH
Amy and Chloe competed in
the Junior British this weekend at Guilford. Amy
took 18th place in the all around, while sister
Chloe climbed 10 places higher to come 8th.
Chloe also qualified for the Vault, Floor and
Beam finals. In the apparatus finals, Chloe came
7th on Beam and 8th on Floor. Unfortunately due
to an injury, she was unable to compete in the
Vault final. A brilliant weekend with fantastic
results - Well done girls!!
TIDWORTH SUCCESS FOR TRAMPOLINISTS
Grade
5 under 9 girls saw OLGA with 3 teams,
showing the depth of talent at OLGA. The teams
came 1st, 2nd and 5th. Individually Madeline
secured top spot with Isobel Warren, and Lucy
2nd and 3rd respectively. In Grade 4 OLGA again
fielded a strong team who came 2nd.
Catherine took top spot for the girls with
Matthew 1st for the boys. George took the Grade
4 under 13 title and David took the Grade 3
under 15s. Keelan was 1st in the Grade 3 under
13 boys. The competition also saw Maddie and
Isabel qualify from 5 to 4, Catherine, Leah,
George and Matthew from 4 to 3 and Keelan
and David from 3 to 2. A big thank you to Paul
Stickland, Darren Haynes, Libby George and Liz
Scott for judging, Michelle Hardwick and Jordan
George for recording and Kimberly Stickland for
marshalling. A very successful day for OLGA and
the coaches would like to thank all our
competitors on their performance and behaviour.
GYMNASTIC FESTIVAL SUCCESS
The
annual gymnastic festival gave the youngsters
and pre development gymnasts a chance to show
the spectators what they can do. The day was a
huge success. Congratulations to everyone
involved.
BOROUGH OF POOLE AWARDS
Claire Wright, Jordan Arnold and Kayleigh Ward
Bailey received Sports Achievement Awards from
the Borough of Poole on Wednesday 18th June.

SW CHALLENGE AND FIG SUCCESS
The
Leaper twins: Chloe and Amy took 2nd and 3rd
respectively in the FIG Junior Championships.
Sarah Long and Leah Jacobs took 2nd and 3rd in
the Challenge Cup. Congratulations girls!
SHANNON COMPETES IN ESPOIR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Shannon Betts competed for the first time in the
Espoir Championships held this weekend in
Gloucester. Her highest apparatus was the Beam,
coming 13th. All around she came 29th. Well done

POOLE OPEN SUCCESS FOR GYMNASTS
The Poole
Open has now become a firm fixture in the gymnastic
calendar. Clubs from all over the South West came to
compete at the weekend. Notable OLGA achievements
include Alanta Hammond-Forge and Sophie Barber (2nd
& 4th Level 4 out of age) and Isabelle Songhurst
(3rd Level 4 in age). In "Monicas Medley" OLGA came
3rd. Congratulations to all competitors
OLGA COMPETE IN BRITISH TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Amy,
Chloe, Leah, Sarah and Shannon represented OLGA at
the above event. the team came 14th overall. Highest
individual was Leah.
CLAIRE WINS BRONZE AND SILVER AT WORLD CUP
Claire,
with her partner Katherine Driscoll took the Silver
medal at the World Cup held Publier in France last
weekend. Individually Claire won the bronze medal.
Also taking part was Luke Rendell. He came 27th in
the mens event. Well done to Claire and Luke.
GYMNASTS REPRESENT DORSET AT INTERCOUNTIES
Several
gymnasts from OLGA were selected to represent Dorset
at the recent Intercounties competition held at the
Forest of Dean. In the FIG under 12 section Sophie
Barber helped the team into 3rd place. The over 12
team included Shannon Betts, Sophie Tinnion and
Lizzie Lockhart. The team took the silver medal.
Isabelle Songhurst, Lucy Froud and Chloe Roaf helped
the under 12 Modified Team into 5th place while
Alice Freeman, Chloe Pennington and Bethany Bailey
helped secure 4th place for the over 12 Modified
