Sunday 6th April 2008 saw Olga's 3rd Novice Trampoline
Competition. Ages ranged from 5-17, with Oliver Simonot and
Alice Waring taking their third consecutive gold medals in their
respective groups. In the U7 Grade 7 girls Sophie Hayes just
pipped last year's winner, Olivia Cahill, to take gold with
Leila Jade Stimpson in 3rd. In the boys event Bradley Rockett
took gold, Luke Evans silver and Ethan Broom 3rd. The U9 Grade
7 girls' group were all taking part in their very first
competition. The winner, Sasha Hanham has only been
trampolining since March! Silver and Bronze were taken by
Jazmine and Mollie Thorpe (a family affair!!!). Daniel Noble
took gold and Owen Miller silver in the boys' U9 Grade 7 event.
Again the U13 Girls Grade 7 event saw many competitors who have
only been jumping for a very short time, Lily Hargan took Gold,
Jazmine Mason Silver and Agata Kawalec Bronze. The U13 Grade 7
Boys title was taken by Michael Matthews. A high standard was
shown in both the U9 Grade 6 Girls' and Boys' events with
Isabelle Evans taking gold by 4.5 marks, Kaylee Jemison took
silver and Chloe Haynes bronze; Oliver Simonot won the boys
title by 5.4 marks, Jacob Wiener was 2nd and Tyler Humby 3rd.
The U11 Grade 6 Girls event saw 3 members, Hannah Hewitt, Coral
Burgess & Cassie Parker, who have been training at Ferndown jump
exceedingly well, with Hannah Hewitt taking gold, Holly Woollard
silver and Tiffany Crayton bronze. The boys' event was hard
fought for silver and bronze with Kieron Gibson and Jordan
Mackenzie scoring exactly the same mark, but on countback rules
Jordan took silver, Kieron bronze and James Rockett took gold.
Not to let her younger sister be the only one to take home a
medal, Amelia Jemison performed 2 good routines to take silver
in the U11 Grade 5 Novice Girls, with Kalikah Stephens taking
bronze and Aimee Leaver winning gold. The U15 Grade 5 Novice
Mixed event was a very close event with only 0.1 separating gold
and silver, final result was; Lucy Short 1st, Kayleigh Cull 2nd
and Kathryn De Lorey 3rd. Special mention must go to Charlie
Songhurst who performed a new routine twice and took 6th place.
Another close event was the U9 Grade 5 Girls with only 0.6
separting the top 5. Robyn Archer took bronze, Katie Owen
silver and Lucy Anderson gold. James Leaver was the gold
medalist in the U9 Grade 5 Boys event. In the U11 Grade 5
Girls, Lauren Tyler amazed all her coaches by performing 2
fantastic routines to take the gold, Emma Marjason 2nd and
Estelle Gleave 3rd. Winner of the U15 Grade 5 Mixed event was
Chloe Metcalfe with James Belchamber 2nd and Amelia Clayton
Taylor 3rd. This competition is also an opportunity for our
more seasoned Grade 4,3&2 competitors to practice their routines
prior to their next Grading competition. Gold medal winners
were Catherine Belchamber, Matthew Walker, Scott Francis, Keelan
Stringer and Chloe Wiener. The synchro event is again for more
seasoned comeptitors, but for some synchro is still a fairly new
event. Group 1 saw some of our youngest and least experienced
competitors taking part, Madeline Songhurst & Katie Owen took
bronze, Leah Matthews & Tyler Nicole Graham silver and George
Gibbs & Keelan Stringer taking gold. Group 2 synchro saw a
battle for gold with Chloe Wiener & Megan Lowe in 1st place
after the first routine, but Sophie Haynes & Sophie Edroff
performed an excellent 2nd routine to take the gold title, Chloe
& Megan silver and Becky Dechow & Catherine Belchamber took
bronze. Group 3 synchro was dominated by the boys!!!! Jason
Ryall & Ryan Stickland were 3rd, Jordan George & Joe McAdam 2nd
and Joe Berry and Joshua Read 1st.
Again all the children were split into 3 teams with 3 coaches as
team captains; Jodi - White Team, Hannah - Blue Team & Brian -
Red Team. Pride as always was at stake, with both Brian and
Jodi having both won in the previous 2 Novice competitions.
Final results saw Jodi taking her 2nd title, with Hannah 2nd and
Brian 3rd.
